ACNM Mission Statement

To promote the health and well-being of women and infants within their families and communities through the development and support of the profession of midwifery as practiced by certified nurse-midwives and certified midwives.

American College of Nurse-Midwives

West Virginia Chapter

 

Purposes of the Chapter:

  • To give support and encouragement to concerns and interests of ACNM members and students.
  • To encourage members to be active participants in ACNM.
  • To promote public relations, representing the midwifery profession to the press and public.
  • To promote communications with other organizations which affect women and children.
  • To support and promote the philosophy of ACNM.
  • To support and promote communication and professional achievement among members.
  • To take political action that is congruent with ACNM philosophy, policy and positions on the local, state, and national level, on issues that impact practice or the health of women and children.
